Anime fans and enthusiasts can expect a bigger and more thrilling anime programming starting this week on TV5 as the channel launches its second season shows including four new anime series—Shakugan No Shana II, Mai Hime, Noein, and the award-winning, Code Geass—all set to fire up your afternoon anime TV viewing.
Award-winning anime series Code Geass is about a young Britannian, Lelouch, who leads a revolution against the Britannian Empire's destructive forces after their invasion of Japan. He vows to take revenge on the Empire with the help of a magical power called the "Geass.” The anime series has garnered numerous awards and accolades, including Best TV anime series in the 2007 Tokyo Anime Awards, and the award for Best TV Animation at the twelfth Animation Kobe event to name a few. Code Geass is also given the most popular series award by a Japanese anime magazine, with Lelouch as the most popular male anime character.
A direct sequel to Shakugan No Shana, which aired during TV5’s first season alongside comedy-adventure Yamato Nadeshiko, Shakugan No Shana II picks up where the previous chapter left off. This time, Shana and Alastor carry on their battle with the Denizens who are trying to steal the Power of Existence from mortals. Shana settles on protecting Yuji, and Yuji vows to join Shana in her fight.
Mai Hime is a comedy-drama focusing on the lives of HiMEs (Highly-advanced Materializing Equipment)—girls with the capacity to materialize photons, gathered at Fuka Academy for a secret purpose. Mai, a transfer student unaware of this rumor, is suddenly told that she possesses the power of a HiME, and learns to live her life as one.
A sci-fi anime TV series, Noein employs a conception of time as a dimension that resonates with other "timespaces." The story revolves around a violent battle between two possible futures—Lacrima, that protects humanity, and Shangri-La, that plans the annihilation of all space-time. The key to stop the latter’s invasion is the "the Dragon's Torque," which turns out to be a 12-year old girl living in the present. She is found and protected by a member of the Dragon Cavalry who turns out to be her best friend fifteen years from the present.
Catch all these new anime shows that are sure to satisfy your anime addiction every weekdays with Shakugan No Shana at 6 p.m., followed by Mai Hime at 6:30 p.m. Noein airs at 7 p.m., and Code Geass at 7:30 p.m. only on TV5.
