TV5 introduces newest sitcom Everybody Hapi

Heralding the return of sitcoms that used to dominate Philippine primetime, TV5 combines a whacky wad of established comedians and fresh young faces in a mixed up Romeo and Juliet story—set not in a castle but in a local community, with funny and real characters that are sure to capture the perfect Pinoy sitcom savvy.

It’s TV5’s first ever situational comedy, it’s Everybody Hapi! With a dynamic cast starring hunky John Estrada who is making a huge comeback to TV sitcoms, veteran comedians Eugene Domingo, Long Mejia, blended with the youthful and fresh humor of Alex Gonzaga, Roxanne Guinoo, Matt Evans, and Randolf Stalamaky, the story is sure to become a classic with characters that are both relatable and funny.

Two warring heads of families living in a duplex are literally divided as two sisters versus the man they hate (and loved) the most become next-door neighbors and business rivals between the sisters’ beauty parlor, and the hunky newcomer’s funeral parlor!

He is Jim (John Estrada), the man Babet (Eugene Domingo) fell in love with, who is in love with her younger sister, Jenny (Roxanne Guinoo). Jenny also fell in love with Jim before, only to find out he got someone else pregnant. After several years, Jim is now flying solo again, but with him now is his daughter, Cathy (Alex Gonzaga)—who secretly develops a romantic relationship with Babet and Jenny’s nephew, Steve (Matt Evans).

To add to the already entangled comedy is the classic sitcom sidekick character of Long Mejia as Carey, Jim’s loyal buddy who never runs out of silly spiels as well as both good and bad pieces of advice and ideas for his friend. Not to be outdone, Babet has her beautician gay friend, George. Randolf Stalamaky also injects humor to the story as Paul, Steve’s rival who also takes on a liking to Cathy.

The sitcom’s overall comedy comes from the raw humor and chemistry of the cast that comes out naturally, plus their nonstop sarcastic remarks and crazy antics. The script is effortlessly funny, booted with sounds and music that add up to the comic ambience of the show. Fully-furnished with humorous romance and hilarity, these loveable and funny tenants will surely make everybody laugh, Everybody Hapi!

Watch the wacky cat-and-dog life story of Jim, Babet, and Jenny together with their friends and family in Everybody Hapi every Sunday at 6 p.m. only on TV5.
Watch out for bigger and more exciting second season shows as TV5 retains its number three position on Philippine TV. Shake Mo TV Mo!
