TV5 Takes Part in RAN Online Global Tournament 2008

As media partner and sponsor in the recently held RAN Online Global Tournament 2008, TV5 offered fun and stirring activities that encouraged every gamer and anime fanatic to enjoy and participate in the said event which kicked off at the SMX Convention Center.

TV5 presented an exciting line-up of games and activities, with the frontline act coming from the number one Filipina cosplayer/gamer babe Alodia Gosiengfiao dressed up as Shana from TV5’s anime series Shakugan No Shana. Onstage activities involved the audience participating in fun games such as the Japanese style marshmallow-eating contest, and scene re-enactments of TV5’s Yamato Nadeshiko, whose challengers had to convince Alodia with their anime-acting prowess, all vying for the chance to take home an iPod and lots of other freebies as well as the perk of meeting and greeting the popular cosplayer backstage.

A massive throng of gamers also joined the offstage fun games in front of the booth such as the search for the Yuji Sakai (Shakugan No Shana) look-alike, anime tic-tac-toe, and the raffle draw.  TV5 also set up a (photo) booth on the event grounds inviting an excited flurry of people who all lined and tangled up to have their pictures taken with Alodia and the rest of the kawaii schoolgirls. The TV5 photobooth pictures can be viewed and downloaded from the station’s website www.tv5.com.ph.

The RAN Online Global Tournament 2008 was hosted by IP e-Game Ventures Inc. Team Philippines won the championship title, getting full support on their home turf, taking home a cash prize of US$5,000. Team Malaysia and Team Hong Kong placed 2nd and 3rd respectively.
