MTRCB gave good omens to TV5 on its course through its second year on TV when the one-year old station bagged three out of nine major awards in the recently held 1st MTRCB Awards last September 4 at the Gateway Cinema 5.

Remaining to be the unprecedented no.1 Saturday program, Talentadong Pinoy won Best Talent Show; Joey De Leon's Wow Mali winning Best Comedy Show award, and kids' program Mustard TV for Best Children's Show.

Talentadong Pinoy host Ryan Agoncillo also won in the special awards category as Male Star of the Night. Ryan is very happy and proud of Talentadong Pinoy's victory, because aside from its very high ratings, the show has bred a support program entitled "Kuwentong Talentado," which airs every Monday evening to serve as a prelude to Talentadong Pinoy during Saturdays.

Sunday weekend winner Wow Mali, hosted by Joey De Leon, won Best Comedy Show, beating GMA7's Bubble Gang. Best Children's Show award was granted to morning kids' show Mustard TV, besting three other children's programs in the other networks.

The winners were selected based on these criteria: redeeming values, social responsibility, acceptability, and moral accountability.
