One of Philippine showbiz's hottest leading men finally seals the deal with TV5! Derek Ramsay officially joins the roster of Kapatid stars in a contract signing held yesterday at the Shangri-La Hotel. Joining him are TV5 CEO and President Atty. Ray C. Espinosa, TV5 VP/Head of Creative and Entertainment Perci Intalan, his talent manager Jojie Dingcong and his father Derek Ramsay Sr.

At the press conference hosted by Good Morning Club's Pat Fernandez, Derek Ramsay answered some burning questions from the press. He said the decision to move to TV5 is "a long and grueling process" but reassures that "I'm confident with the decision I made.

"I'm very, very happy and excited. Sabi ko nga kanina, [this is] a new chapter in my life," he says. Responding about the overwhelming support from his fans on Twitter, Derek thanks his followers for understanding his career move. "They give me the strength and the confidence to believe that I made the right decision."

He also expressed excitement over the projects lined up for him at the Kapatid Network. As the upcoming host of The Amazing Race Philippines, Derek professed his love for sports and travel, and claimed that he can do both in TV5. "They share that same passion... It put a different smile on my face."

Atty. Espinosa also complimented Derek on his versatility as a host, actor and entertainer. "He's a well-rounded professional and it's rare to have somebody like him," he says. "He will be the TV5 Sports Ambassador," referring to Derek representing AKTV at the 2012 London Olympics.
