In support of the Filipino blogging community, TV5 recently sponsored the 2011 Philippine Blog Awards held last December 3 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of the RCBC Plaza in Makati. The annual event recognized some of the best blogs in the country from a wide range of categories that included personal, entertainment, politics, technology and more.
This year's theme is "Bayanihan" and true to the word, the Philippine Blog Awards partnered with Habitat for Humanity for an advocacy called "The Blogger Bahay Project". Their goal is to raise funds and provide manpower for the construction of a Habitat for Humanity house by May 2012. A part of the funds raised for this year's ceremony is reserved specifically for this project, showing how the digital world can make things happen in the real world.
