The Aliwan Fiesta 2012, an annual event that showcases the cultural festivals of the Philippines, was held last April 14 at the Quirino Grandstand. Festival attendees and Kapatid fans alike were treated to the line-up of fun activities including a cultural street dance competition, float parade and the “Reyna ng Aliwan” pageant.

As the official media partner for Aliwan Fiesta 2012, TV5 also joined the float parade with Wendell Ramos of Video Incredible; Tuesday Vargas, Valeen Montenegro, Caloy Alde and Edgar Allan Guzman of Loko Moko; Empoy and Martin Escudero of Kapitan Awesome; Arci Muñoz of Felina; and JC de Vera of Valiente. The Kapatid stars gamely posed for the cameras and signed autographs for the fans while giving away TV5 premium items.

Starting from Quirino Grandstand, the float parade coasted along Roxas Boulevard toward the Aliw Theater, occasionally pausing to accommodate performances by the street dance competitors.

Winners for the street dance competition, best float design and the “Reyna ng Aliwan” were announced at the Aliw Theater. Tribu Pan-ay Dinagyang Festival from Iloilo came up on top in the street dance competition, followed by the warmly welcomed Buyogan Festival from Abuyog, Leyte. Pamulinawen Festival from Laoag, Ilocos Norte bagged the award for best float design, followed by Ang Lingganay Festival from Alang-alang, Leyte.
