After two decades, TV5 brings back the most-loved and the most-talked about soap on television - Valiente. A captivating story that will put to test the value of friendship and love and will unravel a deeply-kept secret of two families, Braganza and Valiente. This remarkable drama is top-billed by the most respected actors and actresses of the country who will give justice to each of the unique characters in the story.
Michael De Mesa, the acclaimed actor who played the role of the original Valiente, returns to the country to do the said project. He left the country in 2009 and now works as a marketing personnel in the US. In October 2011, he received an offer to play a major role in TV5's upcoming remake of Valiente.
The people behind the production of Valiente has been very close to his heart and being a part of the original cast, it has not been hard to make him say "Yes" to the project, except for a tough challenge he then considered. "It was hard kasi recession sa States, everybody values their job, so that was my fear na if I leave for a long time, baka mawala yung work ko dun... Then I spoke to my boss, good thing he understood naman. That was the sign na kapag pumayag siya then I'd really push through with TV5's Valiente."
This finally made Michael accept the project, it made him feel flattered since the production team still considered him to be part of the big cast. He is currently taping with some of the cast members of Valiente such as Jacklyn Jose and Mark Gil, some of them he has worked with like director Joel Lamangan, Gina Alajar and John Regala.
He has also worked with Oyo for a movie they did before. Before he left to spend the holidays in America with his wife, Michael gave a piece of advice to the actor who is considered the Valiente of the new generation, JC De Vera. "What I advice the newcomers is to be serious with their craft and never stop learning and to always keep their feet on the ground."
Michael will be playing the role of Damian Valiente, the trusted worker in Hacienda Braganza and the one who serves as Gardo's (JC De Vera) father. Valiente makes an exciting comeback this February on TV5.
