Lea Salonga sings her heart out for Kanta Pilipinas

The whole world knows her as the Tony Award-winning lead actress for the Broadway musical "Miss Saigon" and as the legendary singing voice of Princess Jasmine and Mulan in the Disney classics "Alladin" and "Mulan". This year, TV5 is proud to present the official theme song for the Philippines's newest reality singing search (composed by Awit Awards awardee Kiko Salazar) as performed by internationally acclaimed singer and stage actress, Lea Salonga.

In this fun and vibrant music video, Lea Salonga calls for the entire nation to join Kanta Pilipinas amidst a collage of famous tourist spots and popular icons of Pinoy culture brought together by award-winning director Raffy Francisco.

Kanta Pilipinas aims to delve deeper into the lives of all contestants, even providing a full makeover to boost their mass appeal and mold them as the country's next singing sensation. The competition is open to all Filipinos from 14 to 30 years old, performing any genre in either solo, duo or group act. On-ground auditions start on February 24 in Cagayan de Oro, then moves to six cities nationwide: Cebu, Davao, Baguio, Iloilo, Metro Manila and Batangas.
