About the Show

Artista Academy sets the bar high for talent searches in Philippine television. With the intention of finding the country’s next biggest stars, TV5 joins forces with the Asian Academy of Television Arts, to provide the future stars intensive training in the various performing arts.

Hosts Cesar Montano and Marvin Agustin will follow Artista Academy’s 16 scholars as they tread the path to fame, fortune and stardom. Guiding them on their way are advisors Joel Lamangan, Louie Ocampo, and Georcelle Dapat, with the Academy's Executive Board Mac Alejandre and Wilma Galvante.

The glamorous artista life and an astounding 20 million pesos worth of prizes await the ultimate Best Actor and Best Actress, making Artista Academy the biggest reality artista search in the country.

For someone who lives in Italy and only stays in the Philippines during school vacations, this Filipino-Italian is amazingly fluent in the Filipino language. Though his Italian lineage is evident in his intense and spontaneous personality, he is also naturally charming, a quality that easily endears him to just about anyone who hears him talk. He admits that he only took a detour to the Artista Academy auditions in Cubao after he and his cousin played billiards in the area. He just tried out on a whim and never expected to make it this far in the competition.

Direk Mac Alejandre

Mac Alejandre is a well-renowned director and scriptwriter. With 20 years of experience under his belt, he has accumulated numerous recognitions for his film and TV works. As the Head of TV5 Talent Center, Direk Mac’s most recent accomplishment is the global hit “Nandito Ako”, starring international singing sensation David Archuleta.
